IIOJK Congress slams administration over rising public distress, policy paralysis Breaking

April 14, 2026

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Congress working president Raman Bhalla has criticized the occupation regime for the rising public distress in the territory, citing "policy paralysis and governance deficit" as the primary reasons. According to Kashmir Media Service, Bhalla highlighted unemployment as a major concern, with thousands of educated youth struggling to find jobs due to delayed recruitment processes, vacant government posts, and lack of private sector investment.

Bhalla also pointed out the worsening inflation scenario, with skyrocketing prices of essentials, LPG, electricity tariffs, and fuel eroding household incomes. Daily wagers, pensioners, and lower-income groups are the worst affected, as their earnings remain stagnant while expenditures continue to rise.  The Congress leader raised concerns about the plight of farmers and horticulturists, citing issues with irrigation, minimum support prices, and inadequate cold storage facilities.

He also highlighted the struggles of daily wagers, casual laborers, and contractual employees, who are living under financial stress due to delayed salaries and lack of job security. Bhalla flagged serious concerns regarding the education and health sectors, alleging a shortage of staff in schools, inadequate infrastructure, and gaps in healthcare delivery, particularly in rural and remote areas.
