Sarfraz Ahmed was jobless for a couple of months and found it difficult to make both ends meet. However, he has now found a source of earning after buying a Chinese oil extracting machine. He said on the advice of one of his friends, he started searching on the internet to select a suitable machine, and finally found the one he wanted. Talking to WealthPK, he said earlier his source of livelihood was selling women dresses, but he had to abandon that business due to financial losses. “Now, having purchased a Chinese oil extracting machine, I plan to advertise to attract customers.” Sarfraz said the machine required minimal maintenance and its electricity consumption was very low. Affordable Chinese oil extracting machines have become a source of income for many in Pakistan. Kaleem Ahmed, a trader in Faisalabad’s Jhang Bazaar area, told WealthPK that the oil extractors were like a black gold. He said rates of mustard, coconut, canola and other types of edible oils had gone through the roof, stressing people out.

“However, now people can extract these edibles at their homes using Chinese machines, which are available on the market.” Kaleem said these machines were a viable choice for small and medium-scale businesses with excellent oil extraction capacity. “The machines will boost businesses because they are affordable, easy to install, and need minimal space to start operations,” he added. Health practitioners also recommend people to use such machines to extract quality oils. Dr Muhammad Irfan, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Allied Hospital Faisalabad, told WealthPK, “Due to health issues, we recommend people to use pure cooking oil.” He said the availability of Chinese machines on the market at affordable rates was a positive development. He said people were also much perturbed due to the unbridled inflation, forcing many to compromise on the quality of their food. “Oilseeds are abundant in Pakistan, and people can easily get high-quality oils from them with the help of Chinese machines,” he added. 

Irfan said in the past, people used traditional oil extractors operated by bulls and camels. However, these extractors vanished and people started relying on commercially packaged edible oils.  Sarfraz said he could extract oil from multiple products like mustard, coconut, sunflower seed, walnut, soybean, peanut, black sesame, white sesame, almond, pepper seed and others. Sharing salient features of his machines, he said maintaining the machine’s temperature was vital. However, he said the machines supplied by Chinese manufacturers were able to maintain heat automatically. Additionally, he said both hot and cold pressing modes were available, meaning he could cater to the needs of a wide range of customers. He said the machine was made of stainless steel, which guaranteed its durability. Kaleem said the oil extractor machines would bring a ‘revolution’ in the agriculture sector.
