Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during next 24 hours, while very hot conditions are likely to prevail during daytime in southern and central regions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).The Met Office forecast isolated rain-windstorm and thunderstorm in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
Hailstorm may also occur at isolated places during the period.In Islamabad and surrounding areas, hot and dry weather is expected during the day, while rain-windstorm/thunderstorm accompanied by isolated hailstorm may occur during evening and night hours with a probability of 55 percent. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, partly cloudy weather is likely in most districts, with isolated rain-windstorm/thunderstorm expected in Dir, Swat, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Bajaur, Kalam, Chitral, Buner, Kohat, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Malakand, Parachinar, Kurram, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, Karak and Waziristan. Isolated hailstorm may also occur in some areas.
Punjab is likely to experience mainly hot and dry weather, while southern and central districts may remain very hot. However, isolated rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is expected in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Sargodha, Noorpur Thal, Khushab, Jhang, Mianwali, Layyah and Bhakkar districts and adjoining areas. Sindh is expected to remain mainly hot and dry, with very hot conditions likely in upper districts, while Balochistan will also witness mainly hot and dry weather.
However, partly cloudy conditions with isolated rain-windstorm/thunderstorm and possible hailstorm are likely in Zhob, Sibbi, Barkhan, Loralai and Musakhel districts during afternoon hours. Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to witness partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-windstorm/thunderstorm, while isolated hailstorm may also occur in Kashmir.
