PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Monday that he had been told that the notification for the appointment of the leader the opposition in Senate would also be issued in a day or two.He was speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court (SC).When asked that the JUI-F had said that it was former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on whose instructions, Mehmood Khan Achakzai was notified as the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly (NA), the PTI chairman said the speaker had issued the notification on his own, and it was a commendable act. “We are thankful to him for that,” he added. 

When a reporter asked as to why PTI members had not attended the Judicial Commission’s previous meetings, Barrister Gohar replied that the reason why the party members skipped these meetings because they had reservations over the 27th Constitutional Amendment. He further said that he had not met with the former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan since the passage of the amendment. “It will only be after meeting with the PTI founder that the party leaders would evolve the strategy for the future.” 

When asked what should be Pakistan’s stance on the Gaza Peace Committee, the PTI chairman said that not only the Islamic countries, but the entire world wanted a permanent solution to the problem. “Whatever solution is found to the issue, it should be in line with the United Nations resolutions,” he opined. He said it was a serious issue and hopefully the government would raise it in the parliament.
