Residents of Hayihama village in Kupwara district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have voiced serious concern over poor mobile network and internet connectivity, saying the persistent issue is disrupting daily life and access to essential services. According toKashmir Media Service, locals in Bungam Hayihama said that telecom services provided by companies such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel remain unreliable, with weak signals and frequent disruptions hampering basic communication.

Residents said the worst affected are students, who are unable to attend online classes, download study material or stay connected with educational platforms. Several families have been forced to send their children outside the area in search of better connectivity and educational opportunities.  They added that inadequate internet services have also impacted access to online banking, government facilities and emergency communication, further compounding difficulties for the local population.

“We are unable to make even basic calls at times. Students have to move from place to place in search of a signal,” a resident said.  Another local pointed out that despite paying for telecom services, subscribers are not receiving consistent connectivity, making it a widespread concern for the entire village.  The residents have appealed to the authorities to take immediate notice of the issue.  Residents stressed that improved telecom connectivity is essential for education, access to public services and the overall socio-economic development of the area.
