Three suspects were shot dead in an alleged encounter in Chohang area of Lahore, CIA police confirmed on Saturday. According to CIA Iqbal town, the police were taking the suspects to identify and trace their accomplices and when the police party reached near their hideout in Chohang, their aides opened fire on the police party. Police claimed that police retaliating also opened fire upon the aides of the suspects and as a result of exchange of fire the suspects under custody identified as Kashan, Yousuf, and Ahmed were killed by the firing of their own partners. Police said that all three dead shooters were associated with the Shahbaz gang. The attacking party took advantage of the darkness and escaped the scene Police shifted the dead bodies to hospital for medico-legal procedure and a search operation has been launched to trace the attackers.
