Senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said the party will stage a ‘peaceful protest’ countrywide. In a tweet, he said the nation will not remain quiet in the wake of an armed attack on party chairman Imran Khan. “The bullet that hit Imran is a heinous conspiracy to harm the honour of the nation,” he stated. On the other hand PTI leader Hammad Azhar has said a murder attempt was carried out against Imran Khan and yet he and his cohorts would be arrested. “Are they running a country or a circus,” he asked on Twitter while quoting a tweet by a journalist.

The quoted tweet included four screenshots of a news channel displaying news about “the interior minister’s order to the FIA to take action against the baseless allegations against an army officer”. Another screenshot said that there was a possibility of arresting Imran Khan and some of his partners in light of the evidence and legal opinion.
