Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar has arrived in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.According to the Foreign Ministry, he was received upon arrival by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Consul General in New York Aamir Ahmad, and officers of Pakistan’s mission to the United Nations and consulate.  

According to the Foreign Ministry, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister have a busy schedule next week, featuring high-level meetings and important diplomatic engagements. He will participate in various ministerial forums and present Pakistan’s position on key bilateral, regional and global priorities related to the UN agenda. Ishaq Dar will also participate in United Nations General Assembly activities alongside Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. During the visit, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers from various countries.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the Deputy Prime Minister will also attend various high-level events being held on the sidelines of the General Assembly. In line with Pakistan’s official schedule, Kashmir, Palestine, regional and global peace, artificial intelligence, counterterrorism and other important international issues are expected to be discussed during the visit. Ishaq Dar’s visit to New York is taking place on the occasion of the UN General Assembly session, which will continue from 21 to 25 September 2026. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the country’s priorities regarding regional and global peace and stability would be highlighted during the visit.
