Positivity ratio soars as Pakistan posts more Covid casesBreaking

Pakistan has registered another 21 Covid-19 infections with no fatality but positivity ratio soared during the last 24 hours, showed the data released by the National Institute of Health (NIH) on Wednesday morning. According to the NIH data, the death toll in the country remained the same at 30,656 whereas the number of total infections now rose to 1,580,788 after adding the fresh 21 cases. During the last 24 hours, 1,780 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio soared to 0.72%. The number of patients in critical care stood at seven.

Long Covid may change brain activity, raise depression: Study People with long Covid accompanied with neurological symptoms such as brain fog have less activity in certain brain regions normally used for memory tasks, revealed a study. The study, published in the journal 'Neurology', also showed that people with long Covid have poorer scores on tests of dexterity and motor endurance than those without Covid.

They also report more negative feelings, such as anger and sadness, and higher levels of stress, and they have lower scores for life satisfaction compared to those who never had Covid. In addition, they have higher scores for depression, anxiety, fatigue and pain than the control group. People in the post-Covid group who have greater changes in their brain activity are more likely to have poorer scores in many of these symptom domains.
