Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has initiated interviews for air hostesses to be hired for its Karachi-based operations. The interviews for shortlisted candidates are currently underway at a local hotel. The recruitment session is being chaired by PIA Chief Human Resources Officer Athar Hussain. PIA has already completed the interview process for air hostesses for its Lahore and Islamabad bases. It is pertinent to mention here that the PIA had announced a recruitment drive for air hostesses at its Karachi base in start of October. The national carrier was seeking applications from female candidates aged 20 to 28 for cabin crew positions.
Interested candidates were asked to submit their resumes and applications online through the PIA portal. According to a PIA communique, the deadline to submit online applications was October 7. A bachelor’s degree has been set as the minimum educational qualification for the post of air hostess. Before this, PIA initiated recruitment drives for its Lahore and Islamabad bases. Earlier, the PIA imposed new restrictions on air hostesses during flight duties. PIA issued a circular stating that air hostesses can possess only one packet of cigarettes during flight duty.
