The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has launched a nationwide cyber awareness campaign, organising sessions in nine cities to educate students, journalists and the general public about online fraud, safe internet use and responsible social media practices. According to an NCCIA official, the campaign was launched on the directions of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi under the supervision of Director General NCCIA Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. He said awareness sessions were organised in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gilgit, Sahiwal, Abbottabad and Karachi to educate citizens about cyber threats and precautionary measures.

The official said special awareness sessions were held for students at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Abbottabad and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi. In Abbottabad, NCCIA also organised a cyber awareness walk at the Press Club, attended by journalists, students and members of civil society. During the sessions, participants were briefed on safe internet use, responsible social media practices and ways to protect themselves from online financial fraud and other cybercrimes.

The official said the awareness activities were aimed at helping citizens identify online threats and adopt safe digital practices. Director General NCCIA Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said raising awareness among all sections of society was essential for building a safe Digital Pakistan. He said NCCIA would continue its efforts to educate citizens about cybercrime and promote responsible use of digital platforms. The DG urged citizens to report any cybercrime incident through the NCCIA helpline 1799 or contact their nearest NCCIA circle for assistance.
