In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in yet another grim incident highlighting the neglect faced by the residents of Badhaal village, Rajouri, 24-year-old Aijaz Ahmed fell critically ill on Tuesday and had to be referred to PGI Chandigarh after his condition deteriorated at a local hospital. According to Kashmir Media Service, Ahmed, the nephew of Muhammad Aslam, who recently lost eight family members in a tragic incident, had been attending to the children of the deceased at main ospital in Jammu before returning home Monday evening.
On Tuesday, just hours after the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s visit to the village, Ahmed complained of severe uneasiness. Doctors at the hospital in Rajouri diagnosed him with urine retention and loss of senses. After providing initial medical aid, they placed him on ventilator support and referred him to Jammu later that night. Authorities are now attempting to arrange air transportation for his transfer to PGI Chandigarh for advanced treatment.
Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Budhal, Javed Iqbal Choudhary, confirmed the referral but expressed frustration over the delay in arranging swift medical evacuation. Villagers have criticized the authorities for their indifference, accusing them of ignoring the dire healthcare needs of Badhaal despite repeated tragedies. The incident has amplified calls for improved medical infrastructure and prompt action in remote areas like Badhaal to prevent further loss of lives.
