Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced scholarships worth more than Rs60 million for around 500 students from Gilgit-Baltistan.According to Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, the scholarships will be distributed among students tomorrow on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Students from seven educational institutions in Gilgit-Baltistan will benefit from the initiative.The minister said the scholarships are a gift from the Punjab government for students of Gilgit-Baltistan. He added that the Honhaar Scholarship Program has reserved quotas for students from all provinces, showing the government's policy of providing equal educational opportunities without discrimination.
Rana Sikandar said students from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also benefiting from the Punjab government's scholarship program. He further announced that the government plans to extend a similar scholarship initiative to students from Azad Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days. He said Maryam Nawaz is committed to providing educational opportunities to young people across the country and would fulfil her commitments to the youth of Azad Kashmir as well.
