Mohsin Naqvi warns police against delays in dealing with public complaintsBreaking

August 02, 2024

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi surprisedly visited Khanna Police Station and expressed his displeasure at its poor condition on Friday. The investigating police officers were absent from their duty rooms and sleeping in another room while complainants waited a long time to register their cases. During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi found two addicts sleeping in a room. The duty sub-inspector failed to provide satisfactory answers about the mismanagement. Mohsin Naqvi inspected the front desk of the police station, the registrar's room, and the lock-up, where he inquired about the cases of the detainees.

The interior minister ordered the release of four individuals who had been detained for illegal street vending, following due legal process. The front desk room smelled of cigarettes, and the police station premises was overcrowded with 1500 motorcycles. Naqvi instructed that the motorcycles be returned to their owners, emphasising that there was no justification for keeping so many at the station. He also ordered immediate redress for complainants, stressing that unnecessary delays would not be tolerated. Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa also accompanied him during the police station visit.
