A woman namely Sadia who received serious burn injuries when her lover set her on fire after throwing petrol at her in Manawan locality of Lahore. Police sources said that the deceased woman was living with her lover Ahsan at his house for two years after obtaining divorce from her previous husband. Police said that a clash erupted between them after Ahsan refused to marry her. Later the accused became annoyed and set her on fire and managed to escape from the crime scene. The police party shifted injured Sadia to Jinnah Hospital in a critical condition but she succumbed to her serious burn wounds. Police registered a case against the accused but still failed to arrest him. Ahsan was reported also injured while torching Sadia. Superintendent of Police (SP) Cantonment Awais Shafiq also took notice of the incident and constituted police teams for arresting the accused. The dead body of Sadia was shifted to mortuary of a local hospital.
