In yet another indication of New Delhi’s war hysteria and preparations for a misadventure similar to the May 2025 escalation in the name of Operation Sindoor, top Indian army commanders are making frequent visits to formations deployed along the Line of Control in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Indian Army’s General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited Rashtriya Rifles units and forward areas in north Kashmir for two consecutive days on October 18 and 19 to review operational preparedness and assess the prevailing situation.
During his interaction with officers and troops on the ground, the Army Commander emphasized constant vigil, operational synergy and technology-driven capability enhancement to strengthen readiness for operations in the wake of the forthcoming winter season. The Indian Army’s Northern Command, in a statement on social media, claimed that the GOC commended the professionalism of troops and lauded their operational acumen. In a parallel development, Indian Police along with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Fire and Emergency Services conducted an emergency response drill in Pulwama.
The drill, ostensibly projected as a disaster preparedness exercise, is being seen by observers as part of the broader Indian campaign to create war hysteria and prepare the ground for a new misadventure against Pakistan on the pattern of May 2025 escalation. Observers in Srinagar, however, view these back-to-back high-level visits and reviews of operational preparedness in forward areas as part of India’s preparations to stage another false flag operation and carry out a misadventure against Pakistan to divert attention from its internal crises and failures in IIOJK.
