I-Day Celebrations: IIUI Female Campus hosts 2-day plantation driveBreaking

The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Directorate of Students’ Affairs (Female Campus) in a bid to promote environmental sustainability and mark Independence Day, in collaboration with the Global Human Rights Network, on Monday organized a two-day plantation drive. The event was part of the university's ongoing commitment to fostering a greener campus and contributing to the national vision of a Green Pakistan. Addressing the participants of opening ceremony of the drive, Incharge Female Campus Dr. Sumayya Chughtai emphasized the crucial role of environmental sustainability and encouraged students and staff to take active part in the plantation efforts. On the occasion, more than 200 saplings were planted across the campus, significantly enhancing its natural beauty and contributing to climate change mitigation and biodiversity promotion.

Students’ Advisor for the Female Campus, Dr. Sadia Saleem expressed her appreciation to all participants and extended special thanks to Ms. Maryam Idrees, Chairperson of the Global Human Rights Network, for her invaluable support in making the event possible. She said the event was a resounding success, with strong participation from the IIUI community. According to the organizers, this initiative not only beautified the campus but also served as a practical step toward improving air quality and creating a healthier ecosystem. The plantation drive aimed to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable practices and the positive impact that individual actions can have on the environment. They maintained that the drive reflects IIUI's dedication to environmental stewardship and its commitment to contributing to the global fight against climate change.
