Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, MNA, has emphasized that dialogue is the most effective means of addressing the country’s challenges. Addressing a press conference in Attock, he described the recent briefing by the Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) as a response to a situation engineered by a political party’s leadership. He praised Pakistan’s defence forces for their sacrifices and highlighted the role of Field Marshal (now Chief of Defence Forces) Syed Asim Munir in leading the armed forces during the recent conflict with India, which he said forced the adversary to retreat.
The MNA criticized a particular political party – the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – accusing it of pursuing an anti-state agenda and fostering lawlessness for personal gain. He warned that the party’s stubbornness has alienated its own supporters and called on all elected representatives to convene in parliament to devise solutions for the nation’s development and the welfare of its citizens.
Ahmad also commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for their development initiatives, stating that their efforts are vital for the progress of the country and the province. He added that he was unaware of any impending ban on PTI and reiterated his belief that constructive engagement, rather than confrontation, is essential for national stability.
