ISLAMABAD, Aug. 22 (INP):  Gwadar fishermen are going to be recipients of free of cost 2,000 motorboat engines as formal process of bidding kicked off in the supervision of Gwadar Port Authority (GPA).  

GPA has floated tenders seeking participation of relevant firms to ensure provision of quality motorboat engines to poor fishermen under salient package announced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif in the last week of June.  

Gwadar Pro quoting GPA official stated on Monday that these motorboat engines are for small boats and the last date for submission of all documents is set on September 5. 

On a query he said that an important condition has been laid down for all firms that at least for two years, they will be legally obligated to provide free repair service to faulty engines. The bidding procedure is in line with PEPRA  

GPA Chairman Naseer Kashani said that the entire process of purchasing 2,000 motorboat engines for fishermen will be made administratively and financially transparent to make sure high standard of public service delivery in a befitting manner. 

He said that the government’s gesture of philanthropy for fishermen has won the hearts of the local people of Gwadar.  

To ensure merit-based distribution of marine engines among fishermen the Planning Ministry has defined a criterion with a set of parametres.
