Pakistan-based trade and investment facilitation company Silkway Impex has signed agreements with Chinese companies in Guizhou and held separate discussions with firms in the steel, pharmaceutical and health-technology sectors, as it seeks to expand industrial and commercial linkages between Pakistan and China.

At a Guizhou-Pakistan Economic and Trade Symposium organised by the Guizhou Chamber of Commerce, the company signed memorandums of understanding and partnership agreements with four Guizhou-based enterprises, Gwadar Pro reported on Sunday.

According to the Pakistani company, the agreements are intended to provide a foundation for potential joint ventures, technology transfer and local industrial development in Pakistan, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture, building materials and food logistics.

Separately, the company’s delegation visited one of Shenlong Steel’s manufacturing facilities in Yuxi, China, where the two sides discussed the Pakistani market.

The talks covered cold-rolled, galvanized and colour-coated steel products and potential market-entry and distribution arrangements in Pakistan.

The two companies are exploring a partnership aimed at developing Haisco’s commercial and brand presence in Pakistan.

According to the report, discussions focused on market entry, product commercialisation and the development of a long-term pharmaceutical business.

The delegation also visited China Boton Group in Shenzhen and toured its research and development facilities.

It held discussions with Boton partner MagFlare on potential joint ventures, technology transfer and manufacturing opportunities in Pakistan, including the possibility of serving both domestic and export markets.
