The movement of Indian army tanks, artillery guns, and heavy military equipment into the Kashmir Valley via train has exposed the true purpose of India’s Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), highlighting its role as a strategic military corridor rather than a civilian transport facility.According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian Army transported the heavy armour from Jammu to Islamabad on Wednesday, describing it as a “major logistics milestone” and showcasing enhanced operational mobility.
Social media posts by the Army emphasized that the USBRL has “redefined logistical capabilities” along the Northern Borders, allowing rapid build-up of troops and equipment in the territory. Experts note that such exercises underscore India’s long-standing military designs against Pakistan.
“What India presents as a civilian infrastructure project is in reality a militarized corridor enabling swift deployment of armour and artillery in the Valley, strengthening its posture against Pakistan,” said a security analyst familiar with cross-border tensions. The development comes amid wider concerns that India’s infrastructure in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is being systematically used to consolidate its military presence, while civilian benefits remain secondary.
