Chinese toys become fast-growing lucrative business in PakistanBreaking

February 06, 2024

Chinese toys have become a lucrative business for shopkeepers in Pakistan, reports WealthPK. Arslan Ahmed was jobless a few years back but nowadays he is earning a handsome money by selling Chinese toys. “One of my friends told me that Chinese toys are in good demand these days and can provide me with a regular source of income. I purchased toys spending a small amount and set up a roadside stall. My business is now going great guns, enabling me to support my family. Scores of customers demand the latest toys; but I cannot source such toys immediately,” Arslan Ahmed told WealthPK. The business of Chinese toys is providing shopkeepers and investors with an opportunity to earn profits. This business is transforming the lives and business landscape, he said. “We cannot earn good money without fostering trust among our customers, and Chinese toys are helping us in developing trust. I am easily getting more than fifty percent profit. Trending toys give me more profit,” he said. Hamid Mehmood, an accountant at a local confectionery, said they were planning to launch a scheme by offering Chinese toys to the children as a gift.

Gifting a toy is a proven strategy to introduce the brand, he said, adding that the affordable prices of Chinese toys were playing an essential role in this regard. “Chinese toys have changed the life of my daughter. I used to purchase old toys from a local flea market (Landa market). Most of such toys were worn out and shabby, creating a health risk for children. Now I am purchasing trendy Chinese toys,” Hamid added. Sana Zakir, a housewife who was purchasing toys from a roadside stall, told WealthPK that Chinese toys were durable and affordable, thanks to the traders for introducing such products. In the current scenario where the public is braving a rising inflation, Chinese toys have provided an opportunity for the parents to fulfil the desire of their children. “Without toys, the life of a child is colorless and Chinese toys are adding colors to the life of children,” she added. With a smiling face, Sana Zakir said, “I used to scold my children when they broke their toys, but now, I am pretty cool, as they cannot break their Chinese toys easily.”
