BALOCHISTAN: In the latest move to disrupt armed networks operating in the province, two suspected militants were killed and three others injured in a security operation in Balochistan.
The report shared on X cites details in posts on the social media platform. The operation was conducted by Pakistani security forces in the Killi Zaik area, some 12 kilometres north of Baseema Camp. Mushtaq Ahmed, alias Koh Yar, the commander, was among those killed, it is reported.
The operation was launched on the basis of intelligence inputs and was part of the wider Radd-ul-Fitna-3 campaign against militant groups including Fitna al-Hindustan, it was reported.
Security forces also recovered large caches of equipment and material at the site. The seizures included 542 rounds of ammunition, 14 magazines, a pistol and four hand grenades, as well as motorcycles, communication devices and USBs allegedly containing sensitive data.
The operation underscores ongoing security issues in Balochistan, where authorities have intensified efforts to eliminate militant infrastructure and prevent attacks.
The reported death and recovery tolls are a big victory for the security forces but independent confirmation of the claims is still necessary.
The report provided no other information released by the authorities on the identities of the injured or the broader circumstances of the operation.
The incident highlights the continued battle between the security forces and militant networks trying to sustain operational bases in the province.
