The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has launched the SECP Clinic in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), aiming to simplify regulatory compliance for businesses. This initiative, praised by experts, is part of the LCCI’s ongoing efforts to support its members and promote a business-friendly environment. LCCI President Kashif Anwar highlighted the significance of the Clinic. He said that the Clinic would provide the members with direct access to the SECP officials, ensuring their queries and issues are efficiently resolved. “The Clinic is a crucial step towards empowering our members and helping them navigate the regulatory landscape more effectively,” he said.

Experts have lauded this initiative as a strategic move to enhance the ease of doing business in Pakistan. According to an SECP official, the SECP Clinic, which will operate every Thursday, offers various services, including assistance with company registration, compliance with corporate laws, and understanding regulatory requirements. It is specifically designed to address common challenges facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Business analyst Dr. Tauseef Ahmed said, “The SECP Clinic is a forward-thinking solution that will significantly reduce regulatory burden on businesses, especially SMEs. By providing direct access to the SECP officials, it ensures that businesses can resolve their issues promptly and stay compliant with regulations.

“This initiative is a testament to the LCCI’s commitment to fostering a supportive business environment.  The SECP Clinic will not only help businesses comply with regulations but also educate them on best practices, thereby promoting sustainable growth,” said Ahmed. “This initiative is a commendable step towards improving the regulatory framework for businesses. It reflects a proactive approach to addressing the needs of the business community. “As the Clinic begins its operations, it is expected to set a new standard for regulatory support services in the country. By streamlining compliance processes and offering direct assistance, the LCCI is taking a substantial step towards facilitating business operations and promoting economic growth,” said Ahmed.
