The federal government utilized Rs75.97 billion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) during the first four months (July–October) of the Fiscal Year 2025–26, reflecting 23 percent utilization of authorized development funds, reports Wealth Pakistan. According to the latest data released by the Planning Ministry, the total PSDP allocation for 2025–26 stands at Rs1 trillion. The government authorized Rs330,430.82 million, with actual expenditures recorded at Rs75,969.87 million from July to October.
The federal ministries were allocated a total of Rs682,262.37 million, with expenditures of Rs53,930.66 million during the period. Several key ministries recorded significant expenditures. Among the federal ministries, the Water Resources Division utilized Rs13,556.50 million from its total allocation of Rs128,898.98 million, with an authorization of Rs45,414.64 million. The Finance Division used Rs78.06 million out of an allocation of Rs851.58 million, with authorization of Rs298.05 million.
The Provinces & Special Areas utilized Rs16,484.71 million from an allocation of Rs253,330.11 million. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) followed with an expenditure of Rs5,207.68 million against an allocation of Rs41,658.48 million and authorized funds of Rs15,742.76 million. The Federal Education and Professional Training Division spent Rs4,829.13 million from an allocation of Rs18,580.00 million and authorization of Rs6,503.00 million.
The Railways Division reported an expenditure of Rs4,323.24 million from an allocation of Rs22,415.00 million and authorization of Rs7,845.25 million, while the Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division utilized Rs3,905.52 million out of its total allocation of Rs23,270.14 million and authorization of Rs8,144.55 million. The Defence Division spent Rs1,088.04 million against an allocation of Rs11,909.03 million, with authorized funds amounting to Rs4,168.16 million.
Similarly, the Information Technology and Telecommunication Division utilized Rs474.74 million from its total allocation of Rs16,227.49 million and authorization of Rs5,679.62 million. The Housing and Works Division utilized Rs518.83 million against an allocation of Rs16,305.80 million and authorization of Rs1,857.03 million. Among the corporations, the total allocations amounted to Rs317,737.63 million, with Rs111,208.17 million authorized and Rs22,039.21 million expended.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) accounted for the bulk of this, utilizing Rs20,171.28 million out of an allocation of Rs226,981.85 million. The Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO) followed, spending Rs1,867.92 million against an allocation of Rs90,755.78 million.
