The government of Pakistan purchased Rs 61.4 billion worth of Government of Pakistan Ijara Sukuk (GIS) through an outright purchase auction conducted on a deferred payment (Bai Muajjal) basis, according to an official document issued by the State Bank of Pakistan.
The auction was organised by the Domestic Markets and Monetary Management Department and held on December 24, 2025, with the Sukuk delivery date scheduled for December 29, 2025. The Bai Muajjal tenor for the transaction was fixed at 1,096 days.
According to the document, the government offered to purchase GIS with a total face value of Rs 66.8 billion. Against this amount, bids with a face value of Rs 61.4 billion were accepted. The cut-off deferred price for the accepted bids was recorded at 141.90, resulting in a total Bai Muajjal amount of Rs 87.13 billion.
The price range quoted during the auction remained between 141.73 and 142.89. All figures were reported in Pakistani rupees and expressed in millions in the official auction result released by the central bank.
