The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has compensated about 800 households affected by land acquisition in Noor Pur Shahan. This includes Rs3.128 million paid for built-up properties and the issuance of  certificates to 357 awardees confirming their entitlement to alternative land, according to the documents available with Wealth Pakistan.

The compensation regime shows that the land was acquired through three awards issued in 1961, 1963, and 1964, covering approximately 2,146 acres. The lawful ownership of the acquired land ultimately vested in the CDA after completion of the acquisition process.

The compensation regime separates payments for structures and built-up properties from the allocation of replacement land. A total of 800 affected households were compensated in full, while 357 awardees received Eligibility Certificates (ECs) for land entitlements.

The larger landholders were eligible for up to four kanals of cultivable land plus 100 kanals allotted in Punjab colony districts.

For smaller landholders, the package included residential plots in Islamabad, with more than 200 plots in Sector I-9 identified under the scheme.

The acquired cultivable land stands at approximately 1,200 kanals, while about 4,900 kanals were allotted in Punjab under the compensation arrangements.

Each Eligibility Certificate represented an entitlement of 100 kanals of land in Punjab colony districts.

The documents also address the legal status of the acquisition, saying all claims were invited, verified, and adjudicated through the CDA's Land & Rehabilitation, Accounts, and Revenue authorities. The valid claims were settled while unsupported claims were rejected.

The acquisition stands complete, leaving no lawful claims pending against the acquired land.

The acquisition dates to the early years of Islamabad's development, when large areas around the federal capital were brought under government control for planned development.
