The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will issue a Rs75 commemorative coin to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, reflecting the longstanding political, economic and strategic partnership between the two countries, reports Wealth Pakistan.
According to an official statement issued by the SBP, the commemorative coin will be made available to the general public from May 25, 2026, through exchange counters of the SBP Banking Services Corporation field offices across the country.
Pakistan and China formally established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951, laying the foundation for one of the region’s most enduring bilateral relationships, which has since expanded across trade, infrastructure, energy, defence, technology and industrial cooperation.
The SBP said the Government of Pakistan had decided to issue the commemorative coin to honour 75 years of diplomatic engagement and friendship between the two countries.
The coin is round, with serrated edges, and has been minted from a copper-nickel alloy comprising 75% copper and 25% nickel. It has a diameter of 36 millimetres and weighs 19 grams.
On the obverse side, the coin features a waxing crescent moon and five-pointed star facing northwest in a rising position at the centre. Along the upper periphery, the words “Islami Jamhuria Pakistan” are inscribed in Urdu script.
The year of issuance, “2026,” appears below the crescent and star above two upward-curving wheat sprigs, while the denomination “75” and the word “Rupia” in Urdu are displayed on either side.
The reverse side of the coin carries the inscription “75th Anniversary of Pakistan and China Diplomatic Relations” along the upper edge, while the words “Trust Friendship Support” appear along the lower periphery.
At the centre, the national flags of Pakistan and China are displayed alongside an artistically designed numeral “75,” symbolising the anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The years “1951” and “2026” are inscribed on either side of the design.
The reverse side also includes the phrase “Pak-Cheen Safarati Tauluqat Kay 75 Saal” in Urdu and Chinese script above the flags, while the words “Eitamad-Dosti-Mu’awanat” appear below the numeral design in Urdu and Chinese script.
The commemorative coin is being issued at a time when Pakistan and China continue expanding bilateral cooperation under their broader strategic partnership, with growing emphasis on trade, industrialisation, connectivity and investment initiatives, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
