Sindh govt committed to promote zero waste policies: CM Muradتازترین

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on the International Day of Zero Waste has said that prevention of food waste is a shared responsibility of all of us.He said that one billion tons of food is wasted globally every year is alarming. The Chief Minister of Sindh said that zero waste begins with our own plates.Syed Murad Ali Shah said that 60 percent of food waste occurs in households; this trend must change.

The public should demonstrate responsibility in the use of food, he said, adding that a sustainable food system is the need of the time. The Chief Minister said that the Sindh government is committed to promoting zero- waste policies.He said that reducing food waste can help protect the environment. Shah said instead of discarding leftover food, it should be distributed to those in need. He also asked the business organizations to set targets to reduce food waste. The Chief Minister said we all must play our part for a zero-waste future.
