Pakistan's newly appointed Ambassador to Republic of Uzbekistan, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu has undertaken his diplomatic responsibilities, by formally presenting his credentials to Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, who reaffirmed Tashkent's commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.

Receiving the credentials, Saidov said he held detailed discussions with the Pakistani Ambassador on further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and ensuring the effective implementation of agreements reached by the leadership of the two countries.

The two sides identified the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, activation of mechanisms under the Strategic Partnership Council, increasing bilateral trade and promoting interregional ties as key priorities for future collaboration.

Saidov wished Ambassador Tipu success in his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan and reaffirmed his country's readiness to work closely with Pakistan to further enrich bilateral relations and strengthen the strategic partnership.

Ambassador Tipu assumed his new assignment in Uzbekistan after serving as Pakistan's envey to Iran.

A seasoned career diplomat with extensive experience in Pakistan-China relations, he previously served as Director General (China) at Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he oversaw the country's diplomatic engagement with China.

His earlier China assignments include serving as Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu and First Secretary at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, contributing to the promotion of bilateral cooperation and the continued development of Pakistan-China relations.

Ambassador Tipu said his appointment comes at a time when Pakistan and Uzbekistan are focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, transport connectivity and regional integration.

He noted that both countries are working to strengthen economic ties, enhance connectivity between South Asia and Central Asia, and explore new transit and trade opportunities through regional corridors.

Pakistan and Uzbekistan have significantly expanded bilateral engagement in recent years, with both countries prioritizing stronger economic cooperation, regional connectivity and people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides are also pursuing closer coordination on regional transport and trade initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity between South Asia, Central Asia and neighboring regions.
