CDA steps up infrastructure revamp with Rs5.2bn projects

The Capital Development Authority has initiated work on seven schemes worth Rs5.2 billion under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26. With a first-quarter release of Rs89.45 million (15%), the initiative signals a strong push to modernise the capital's infrastructure. According to the official documents available with Wealth Pakistan, among the approved schemes, Rs90 million has been allocated for refurbishing and rehabilitating a government-owned building, with Rs13.5 million disbursed in the first quarter.

The total cost of this project is Rs1.8 billion. Similarly, Rs55 million has been allocated for refurbishing existing facilities and adding new facilities at Prime Minister Staff Colony, with Rs8.250 million released during the first quarter of FY26. The project’s total cost is Rs310 million. A budget of Rs65 million has been approved for refurbishing the Prime Minister’s Office, with Rs9.7 million disbursed in the first quarter. The total project cost is estimated at Rs343 million.

A budget of Rs53.6 million has been allocated for replacing old and unserviceable elevators with new elevators at Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat Building, with Rs8 million released in the first quarter. The project’s total cost is Rs54 million. The construction of 12 apartments in the Minister’s Enclave has received the largest allocation of Rs132.7 million, with a release of Rs19.9 million for the first quarter as the project will cost Rs313.9 million.

In addition, Rs100 million has been earmarked for constructing Federal Election Academy and other offices of the Election Commission of Pakistan with Rs15 million released so far. The project’s total value is Rs1.9 billion. An equal allocation of Rs100 million has also been made for constructing the office building of Intelligence Bureau in the Diplomatic Enclave, with Rs15 million released in the first quarter. This project will be completed at a cost of Rs403 million.

The cumulative allocation of Rs596.353 million for CDA’s seven projects for FY26 underscores the government’s commitment to improving federal infrastructure and administrative facilities in the capital. The timely release of these funds is expected to ensure that key projects are completed without delay, providing a tangible boost to economic activity and public welfare.
