A tragic accident occurred on the Sukkur-Multan Motorway (M-5) near Ghotki, where a passenger coach travelling from Punjab to Karachi collided with a trailer. The collision resulted in the deaths of eight people, including two women and four children, while eight others sustained injuries on Monday. According to the motorway police, the accident happened at location 470 on the M-5 motorway due to the driver falling asleep at the wheel. Rescue operations were immediately initiated, with heavy contingents of Rangers and police arriving at the scene. Despite the prompt response, heavy rain has made rescue efforts challenging. Motorway Police confirmed that the bodies of the deceased and the injured have been shifted to Ghotki Hospital.
