Police in Okara on Thursday registered a case against unidentified persons who first hacked an ATM machine of a private bank and then stole a sum amounting to Rs3.4 million from it. It emerged that the persons stole money from the machine on different occasions. As per the text of the FIR registered at A-Division police station on the complaint of the bank manager, the bank management on Wednesday afternoon suspected that the machine had been hacked when it came to its knowledge that Rs0.4 million had been drawn from it. “But before the staff could reach there to catch the thieves, they had left along with the cash,” read the FIR. On the other hand, DSP City said that a team had been constituted for the arrest of burglars.
