An armed attack on the district jail in Dera Murad Jamali resulted in the deaths of two inmates and left three others injured on Wednesday. The assailants opened fire on the jail, creating chaos within the facility. During the confrontation, one of the attackers was wounded and subsequently arrested by the jail authorities. Following the attack, a large contingent of police forces arrived at the scene to secure the area and prevent further violence.

It is worth mentioning that last month on September 19, one labourer was killed on the spot and five other labourers received serious injuries when unknown assailants who were riding on a motorcycle attacked them with a hand grenade in Dera Murad Jamali. The labourers were busy having lunch when they came under attack. These labourers were working on Block Top Road. The deceased labourer belonged to the Khairpur district of Sindh. Police and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) reached the crime scene immediately. Rescue teams shifted the body of the labourer and injured persons to the civil hospital.
