The Sindh Culture Department has approved the declaration of a dog's grave in Qambar Shahdadkot as a protected heritage site. The decision came during a meeting of the Advisory Committee, chaired by Chief Secretary Sindh, Asif Haider Shah. The committee, which included notable members like Secretary Culture Hameed Haroon, Kaleemullah Lashari, and officials from the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), reviewed various heritage designations across the province. Chief Secretary Sindh instructed SBCA to seek input from the Culture Department before categorizing any buildings as dangerous. Several historical sites and buildings were granted cultural heritage status, including the old Mukhtiar Kar office in Nowshera Feroze, the old civil court in Rohri, and the inspection bungalow in Kandhkot (built in 1908). Karachi's Parsi Institute Compound (KPI), Jangir Kothari Hall, Katrak Swimming Bath (1905), and Syed Hashmi Reference Library in Malir were also added to the list. This move is seen as a significant step in preserving Sindh's diverse cultural and historical landmarks.
