Security forces’ operations against Fitna al-Khwarij continue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where seven more Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed in a recent Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the province. The security forces conducted the IBO in the Eidak area of North Waziristan. Executing the decisive action with relentless determination and combat proficiency, security forces pursued the terrorists and completely destroyed their hideout.
The Pakistan Army has severely degraded the terrorists’ operational capacity in the area by targeting their hideout. Security forces remain committed to the complete eradication of terrorism under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam. Earlier, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said there can be different views on how to deal with terrorism, but the war against terrorism cannot be compromised or sacrificed for anyone’s politics.
Responding to a question about his observation that some political elements have a different idea about terrorism, the DG ISPR said different people can have different thinking about dealing with terrorism and there is no issue with that. He said there was also no problem in discussing how terrorism should be tackled.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the debate on terrorism had been continuing in Pakistan for a long time, and the National Action Plan was formulated as a result of it. He said Vision Azm-e-Istehkam was also unanimously agreed upon as a result of discussions in Pakistan.
