October 24, 2026

Four children were killed and five others injured in a tragic traffic accident in Neelum Valley. Three real brothers were among those killed, and all the children involved reportedly belonged to the same family.

According to media reports, the accident occurred near Nager Kanari in Neelum Valley, where a vehicle carrying children lost control and fell into the Neelum River. The children were on their way to school when the tragic accident took place.

Police officials said rescue personnel reached the scene and launched relief operations immediately after receiving information about the incident. Rescue teams recovered the children’s bodies from the river and shifted them to a local hospital, while the injured children were also taken to hospital for medical treatment.

An atmosphere of mourning prevailed in the area after the deaths of several children from the same family. The simultaneous deaths of three real brothers left their family in deep shock.

A few days earlier, a van carrying schoolchildren had met a horrific accident near Lower Mohra Bara Hotar in Murree and plunged off the road, after which a sudden fire broke out in the vehicle. Ten children suffered severe burn injuries in the incident.

In the outskirts of Murree, a passenger van carrying children to school went out of control and fell into a deep ravine. Soon afterward, an unexpected fire broke out in the van, reportedly due to a short circuit or a gas cylinder.

Tragic incidents involving fires in passenger vehicles and vans transporting children to school have continued to occur in Pakistan. Safety regulations are in place, but it remains unclear who will ensure their implementation.

In September 2026, a similar tragic incident near Murree involved a school van carrying children catching fire, injuring several students and killing two children. According to reports, the van did not have a fitness certificate. The driver was allegedly carrying a petrol can under the seat and was also smoking while driving.
