President Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI) Rubina Amjad has urged the Government and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to reduce the interest rate by 4 percent in the forthcoming monetary policy to help to improve the working of small and medium women enterprises as well as large businesses. In a statement issued on Monday, she said that as the inflation figures have been reduced to single digit, it was imperative that immediate steps should be taken to reduce the bank interest rates by 4 percent. Rubina Amjad further stated that the reduced interest rates will help SMEs and large businesses to enhance economic activities. She said that it will also push up consumer demand and supporting economic recovery. The FWCCI President urged the Government and SBP to act urgently for reduction in bank interest rates to ensure healthy business climate for SMEs and large businesses.
