Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a major road development project involving the construction of three new road corridors, stretching a total of 450 kilometers across the province. In a crucial meeting led by Sharif, the government outlined plans to build two-way roads connecting key cities: from Sahiwal to Chichawatni and Rajana to Leh. Additionally, the single-lane road from Dipalpur to Vihari will be upgraded to a two-way route, and a new two-way corridor will be constructed from Shorkot to Jhang Chiragwali. The ambitious project, with a budget of 210 billion rupees, is slated for completion by December 2025. It will be executed with the support of the Asian Development Bank and the Punjab government. Construction is set to commence within three months, promising significant improvements in travel efficiency and economic development. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also inaugurated four new projects by the Punjab Special Branch. During her visit, she engaged with children at the daycare, explored the library’s historic archives, and reviewed records from the Daily Situation Report of 1901.
