The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally submitted a request to hold a rally in Rawalpindi on September 28. The application was filed by PTI District President Chaudhry Ameer Afzal and District General Secretary, accompanied by a team of lawyers, at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The request stated that PTI is the largest political party in the country and that holding a peaceful rally was a constitutional and legal right of every political party. They assured that all regulations of the Deputy Commissioner would be followed and requested the issuance of a No Objection Certificate (NOC). PTI has proposed Liaquat Bagh and Bhata Chowk as potential venues for the rally. The Deputy Commissioner’s office has acknowledged the receiving of PTI’s request for permission and has decided to consult the Home Department for guidance on the matter.
