The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided not to participate in the parliamentary committee meeting, constituted to appoint the next chief justice of Pakistan. The decision was taken during PTI’s political committee meeting. It was decided that the party would not participate in the committee meeting scheduled to be held today (Tuesday). Sources said that it was also decided in the meeting that the PTI members who voted for 26th constitutional amendment would face disciplinary action, including the cancellation of their basic party membership. It may be noted that National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Monday constituted a 12-member parliamentary committee to appoint the chief justice.
