PIA removes Dubai manager over harassment allegationsBreaking

September 12, 2024

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has taken action following multiple complaints of harassment filed against its regional sales manager in Dubai. After receiving the complaints, PIA's administration promptly responded by removing the accused from his post. According to a spokesperson for PIA, several complaints were lodged accusing the regional sales manager of harassing women. Upon receiving these reports, the PIA administration immediately took notice and began an investigation into the allegations. The suspected manager has been removed from his position in Dubai while the inquiry is underway. PIA has assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.

A week ago, PIA's deputy station manager in the UK, Iqbal Javed Bajwa, resigned after it was revealed that his FA certificate from the Lahore board was fake. A PIA spokesperson confirmed the resignation, stating that Bajwa was asked to step down following the verification of his fraudulent academic credentials. Sources disclosed that Bajwa -- who was introduced by PIA's finance manager in Birmingham on July 30 -- initially resisted resigning despite the discovery of his fake degree. However, he eventually resigned under pressure from his family. The PIA spokesperson reiterated that the airline maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding falsified credentials and that appropriate action was taken in Bajwa’s case.
