The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has successfully dismantled a large quantity of  expired spices, following a raid near Sheikhupura. In a coordinated effort, Food Minister Bilal Yasin, alongside the Director General of the Food Authority, led a grand operation that intercepted a significant shipment of hazardous food items en route to the provincial capital. The food safety teams acted swiftly, apprehending the mafia responsible for compromising public health. Under the supervision of the Punjab Food Minister, a large cache of expired spices, jams, and sauce ingredients was destroyed.

During the operation, over 12,000 kilograms of expired Kasuri methi, 6,000 kilograms of raw materials intended for jam and sauces, and 600 kilograms of mustard powder were incinerated at an advanced disposal site. Additionally, a substantial quantity of harmful chemicals was also destroyed. Minister Bilal Yasin emphasized that these substandard spices, jams, and sauces were intended for supply to Lahore, stating, "We will not forgive those food terrorists who threaten the health of our citizens." He further noted that products made from expired and poor-quality ingredients are a significant cause of diseases, and legal actions are being initiated against those involved in such harmful practices.
