The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore on Tuesday busted key passports agents gang and recovered over 1500 passports from their possession. According to details, the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle on directives of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi launched crackdown against illegal passport agents. During operation, seven-member passports agent gang comprising Raza, Muddasir Shah, Nadeem Shah, Kibriya, Husnain Shah, Samar Abbas and Umair Ahmed was busted. The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle recovered 1532 Pakistani passports, fake seals and documents of Iran, Iraq and other countries from possession of the detainees. The accused used to send citizens to Iran and Iraq on pilgrimage visas. According to the FIA ??spokesperson, the accused are involved in illegal border crossing and forced labour, a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation has been started. DG FIA Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir congratulated the Director FIA Lahore Zone and his team for the successful operation. Director FIA Lahore Zone Sarfaraz Khan Virk has said that passport agent mafia and human smugglers do not deserve any concession, the crackdown against passport agent mafia will continue.
