Prominent Pakistani YouTuber Dr. Omar Adil has been sentenced to jail for using offensive language against women. His arrest follows a recent case filed by the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing. During a court hearing at the district court, the Judicial Magistrate sent Dr. Adil to jail on judicial remand, rejecting the FIA's request for physical remand. Dr. Adil was represented by his lawyer, Salman Aslam, during the proceedings. The case against Dr. Adil was initiated by Ayesha Bukhari, spokesperson for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who filed the cybercrime complaint.
