Renowned writer and anchor Orya Maqbool Khan has approached the Lahore High Court seeking bail in a cyber crime case. Khan’s legal team has filed a bail application, naming the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as the respondent. In the application, Khan’s lawyers argue that he is currently in judicial remand with no evidence on record against him. They contend that the FIA has not recorded any statement regarding Khan’s tweets and claim that the case against him is based on malicious intent. The petition requests the Lahore High Court to grant bail and order Khan’s release.
