NDMA reports 306 deaths during ongoing monsoon season Breaking

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released a report detailing the significant loss of life and property due to monsoon rains across Pakistan from July 1 to September 2. According to the report, 306 people lost their lives during this period, including 101 men, 50 women, and 155 children. The province of Punjab was the hardest hit, with 114 fatalities, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 88 deaths, and Balochistan with 31. Sindh reported 61 deaths, while Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir recorded 4 and 8 fatalities, respectively. Additionally, 591 people were injured in various incidents caused by the heavy rains. The NDMA report also highlighted extensive infrastructure damage, with 23,416 structures destroyed, including 8 schools and 35 bridges, underscoring the widespread impact of the monsoon season across the country.
