The Lahore High Court on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for filing an unnecessary application related to former Chief Minister Parvez Elahi. A two-member bench led by Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, dismissed NAB's application as unnecessary and wasteful of court time. NAB had contested a decision by the accountability court requiring them to provide inquiry records to Parvez Elahi, arguing that such records should not be disclosed under their rules. The accountability court had previously ordered NAB to release the inquiry records concerning development project references involving Elahi.
