The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to establish its own inquiry commission to investigate the events of May 9th. Sources reveal that the provincial government has opted not to request a judicial inquiry from the High Court again. Instead, they will set up an independent inquiry commission. The final approval for this decision is expected to come from Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam Advocate stated that it is not mandatory to involve judges in the investigation. He emphasized that while the judiciary's involvement was preferred due to high trust in their impartiality, the government is prepared to proceed with its own commission if necessary. The KP government’s move highlights a proactive stance on uncovering the truth behind the May 9th incidents, ensuring accountability through its own established channels.
