Karachi becomes ‘unlivable’ city due to safety and environmental issues Karachi Parks. Living a healthy life has become increasingly difficult for Karachi citizens, with multiple factors hindering their efforts to stay active and fit. Security concerns are a significant issue, as residents feel unsafe walking in public areas due to the risk of robberies. Streets and pathways that could facilitate healthy activities are often avoided for safety reasons. The deteriorating condition of local parks further limits options for exercise. Out of 46 parks managed by the Karachi Municipal Corporation and 550 by the Town Municipal Corporation, most remain neglected, with litter and waste marring the environment. Many residents find it challenging to walk or even sit in these polluted areas, avoiding the once-popular spots for outdoor activity. The increasing reliance on technology and the fast-paced lifestyle of Karachi's residents contribute to their distance from physical activities, making it harder to prioritize health in daily life.
